Lenten Worship Resources to Spark Transformational Conversations
Reclaimed lumber can make spectacular furniture. The nail holes and scuff marks from the former use of the wood adds depth and character. The same is true when we reclaim our calling as Disciples of Christ. Each of our unique histories adds to the beauty of what God is calling each of us, and all of us to today.
“Reclaiming Our Call” is a cooperative project from the Illinois/Wisconsin and Michigan regions, that includes a scripture-based call to worship, opening prayer, a scripture suggestion, hymn suggestions, and preaching prompts following a theme for each Sunday in Lent as well as resources for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
To further help in your worship planning we will be hosting weekly “preaching circles” where we can come together and discuss what we feel God is saying to each of us through the upcoming text. We can share our stories and hone our messages with our friends and colleagues in ministry. The preaching circles will be held weekly on Tuesday beginning March 1st at noon and 6:30pm Central (1pm and 7:30pm Eastern). Registration for the daytime circle is available at: https://bit.ly/LPCDaytime and registration for the evening circle is available at : https://bit.ly/LPCEvening. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
